"Health in Latvia 1991-2004: Years of conflicting values" - a book written by a Norwegian and a Latvian medical doctor, Øivind Larsen and Guntis Kilkuts.

Latvia left the Soviet Union in 1991 and joined the European Union in 2004. During these years, living conditions for the population changed profoundly. The book presents an outside and inside perspective on the recent past, an important transition period in Latvia's history. The authors discuss the influences on health exerted by political changes.
